eXRS Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat
is eXRS? What is the difference between a group channel and a private channel? The TSX300 has the capability of having group and private channels. The TSX100 can have group channels only. Each TSX300 may be identified in its “MY RADIO” settings by a chosen name and 10-digit number which represents its private channel. The “MY RADIO” name is the name used for Caller ID. Group channels are any 3-digit numbers on the TSX100 and any 10-digit number on the TSX300. They can be used to communicate between two or more radios. Just put each radio in the group on the same group channel. Private channels are channels that correspond to another radio’s “MY RADIO” name and number. Private channels are used to contact an individual privately even if that individual is on a group channel. A private channel is in essence a direct line to another radio. Below is an example of the use of Private and Group channels: Enter each radio’s “MY RADIO” information:
On each radio, select Group Beatles from the contacts. Now all radios can communicate on Group Channel Beatles. Each radio will be identified while it is transmitting by Caller ID corresponding to its “MY RADIO” name. On radio 1, select Private Channel George from the contacts list. Radio 1 can now communicate directly with George (Radio 3) even though George is on Group Channel Beatles. Only John and George will hear the private conversation.
